The wait is over for Trofeo Kima. Following the sold-out achieved for the Grande Corsa on the Sentiero Roma, the Valmasino non-profit association is ready to open registration for the three younger sisters: Kima Extreme SkyRace®, Kima Trail and Mini Kima.

Before turning the spotlight on the shorter distances, here are a few numbers from the Italian leg of the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series, scheduled for Saturday, August 22. All 400 available race bibs were assigned after a careful analysis of more than 2,000 applications received by the organizing committee’s secretariat.

The final 50 starters will come from the click day of the Pizzostella Skymarathon. At present, 35 nations are represented, with women making up 23% of the field.

Not only world cup racing. On Friday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m., the second registration window dedicated to Kima Extreme SkyRace®, Kima Trail and Mini Kima will open:

“Ours is an event for everyone, from champions to entry-level runners,” said Ilde Marchetti, President of the Valmasino non-profit association. “The beautiful SkyRace course designed on the final section of the Trofeo Kima route has a high adrenaline factor thanks to the verticality and technicality of the course. It is ‘extreme’ in name and in fact, featuring a 27.5 km course with 1,890 meters of positive elevation gain and a high point at 2,570 meters above sea level on Passo Barbacan (the race’s King of the Mountain point).

The two non-federation events, instead, highlight the valley floor: the first is a very easy 6 km loop along the cycle-pedestrian path, ideal for beginners, para-athletes and parents running with children; the second is a true gem — 14 km entirely runnable, touching some of the most scenic and panoramic points in Val di Mello.”
